Anne writes:

New Home

“Because we're Jewish, my father emigrated to Holland in 1933, where he became the Managing Director of the Dutch Opekta Company, which manufactures products used in making jam. My mother, Edith Holländer Frank, went with him to Holland in September, while Margot and I were sent to Aachen, to stay with our grandmother. Margot went to Holland in December, and I followed in February, where I was plunked down on the table as a birthday present for Margot.”

I was not looking forward to doing a long project on some long lost girl with a sad story about the Holocaust. I had no idea that this brave young girl has gone through this much in her lifetime. I would not have been able to cope like she did. She adapted so easily, with the help of her diary. She is a great inspiration to many, as I can now see. Thank you for this information. I look up to Anne for her determination as a young girl.
